Resolution on Internet Filtering
Approved by Governing Board on first reading April 21, 1999

Whereas Wyoming's libraries serve as a gateway to the Internet's World Wide Web for many of the state's residents for educational, professional or personal growth, and

whereas the State of Wyoming's leased telecommunications network is the channel for much of the WYLD internet access,

whereas Wyoming librarians and trustees support the intellectual freedom of each resident, and

whereas each local library through its Internet Use Policy should be able to determine Internet access,

Therefore be it resolved that the WYLD Network member libraries unconditionally support an unfiltered network on which its Internet data is transmitted, and

Be it further resolved that the network members strongly support the State of Wyoming's current practice of maintaining an unfiltered telecommunications environment.
