  3. Changes or additions to the agenda, approve agenda and minutes from last meeting, June 19th, 2008
    1. No changes or additions to the minutes or agenda, both approved unanimously.
  4. Serial Records inputting issues - Stephen Sarazin

    The committee discussed the occurrence of using several serial bibliographic records that indicated title changes. Comment was made that this practice is confusing to the patron and difficult for staff to process material. Decision was made to research this topic, Stephen will locate policies of other consortiums regarding this practice and Beth will find the rules and standards related to new serial records. This topic will be discussed at the next committee meeting.

  5. PLAYAWAYS

    Discussion continued from last meeting regarding adding an item type. Decision was made to look into a generic item type.

  6. Item type policies for audiobooks

    Discussion centered around the many item types that could be used to describe audiobooks. The item types under review for possible merging are: Book media, CD book, Audio Cassette, Books on Tape, and MP3. Decision was made to draft a letter to the WYLD community via email asking for opinions regarding any possible merger.

  7. Location policies that might be combined

    The committee will look into combining locations. Some possible locations to combine are Basement and Storage, Historical, Check Desk and Info Desk, Learn Cntr. Des will contact the libraries who have these locations and determine if they can be combined or removed. Another area the committee will review will be the different juvenile locations. Each of the committee members will review the list of locations and propose some possible mergers at the next meeting.

  8. Update on MARC record for college purchases

    Des reported that all of the colleges now have their own proxy servers and that the process to update Gale Virtual Library records is underway.
